Liu has been an active member of the committee for the St. Jude Children's Hospital Poker Fundraiser for many years. In addition, she is an advocate for the global initiative 'Because I am a Girl' by Plan International, which aims to empower girls and enhance their rights along with those of their families worldwide. A passionate blogger, she tackles a variety of feminist topics, ranging from the representation of women in poker to celebrating influential female figures. Liu is also set to appear on the reality TV show 'Girl Got Game,' where she will take part in a Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament in Los Angeles in May 2016.

An avid comic book enthusiast, Liu looks up to Rorschach from 'Watchmen' as her favorite superhero. After finishing 4th in the 2012 PCA Main Event, she received a motivational message from Vanessa Selbst, who humorously pointed out how many hamburgers Liu could enjoy with her prize money. Liu also features in the poker reality show 'Girl Got Game' alongside fellow poker players Sofia Lövgren and Kitty Kuo.
Liu reached a significant milestone by making it to the WSOP final table in May 2012, securing the 6th place. Other impressive finishes include 4th place at the Pokerstars.com Caribbean Adventure in 2012, 3rd place at the 2011 Pokerstars.com EPT San Remo, and 2nd place at the 2015 Aussie Millions.
