Explanation of Fold
Folding signifies that we are choosing to give up our hand and relinquish our chance to win whatever is in the pot. We typically make this decision when someone else has already placed a bet on the current round, and we decide against adding more chips to the pot.

Incorporating Fold into Your Poker Tactics
Beginners often hesitate to fold their hands. Their curiosity about opponents’ cards and their eagerness to see the showdown often lead them to stay in hands longer than they should.
Experienced players recognize that folding is a vital part of strategy and can significantly improve their winning rate when done at the right moments. As a general rule, it's advisable to fold your weakest hands on all streets, except just before the showdown, where they might serve as a bluff.
See the glossary entry under Action for an in-depth overview of when to implement each action.
