As we ring in the New Year, we are thrilled to share the upcoming events on the 888poker Live agenda. From vibrant cities like London, Sao Paulo, and Berlin to the bustling atmosphere of Las Vegas, we are geared up for an incredible year in 2018!
2018 888poker Live Schedule
The action will commence in February with the 888poker LIVE 2018 Kick-off Event, featuring a buy-in of £440 at Aspers Casino from February 2-11. We will also organize local tournaments at this venue in June, August, and November to keep the excitement going.

In addition, we will host the 888poker LIVE Bucharest event at the Marriot Hotel from February 28 to March 4. This stop will include a two-day Opening Event with a buy-in of €220, guaranteeing a prize pool of €50,000 and offering the champion a package to 888Live Local London. The tournament is scheduled from February 28 to March 2.
From March 1-4, we will conduct a four-day Main Event with a buy-in of €888, featuring two starting flights, a guaranteed prize pool of €288,000, and the chance for the winner to earn a WSOP Crazy 8’s package. We also have an exciting single-day Ladies Event with a buy-in of €88, where the winner will receive a package for 888poker Live Barcelona.
Earlier in January, we sponsored the WPTDeepStacks European Championship in Berlin, held at Casino Spielbank Berlin, where a €1,500 buy-in Main Event took place from January 10-15, boasting a remarkable €1 million guaranteed prize pool.
From February 6-11, we will organize the 888poker LIVE London Mini Festival, followed by a partnership for the WPT500 Easter event at Aspers on April 1. This will be succeeded by the 888poker LIVE Festival Barcelona at Casino Barcelona from May 23 to June 4.stDuring the summer months, we will return to Las Vegas to collaborate with the World Series of Poker, participating in both the Crazy 8’s and Main Event tournaments. The Crazy 8’s, Event #62: $888 Crazy Eights NLHE 8-Handed, offers four starting flights beginning on Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m., with the next flight (1B) slated for 5 p.m. that same day. Flights 1C and 1D are enabled at the same times on Sunday, July 1. The champion of this unlimited re-entry tournament will walk away with a guaranteed first prize of $888,888.
As for the prestigious 11-day $10,000 WSOP Main Event, it will feature three starting flights, commencing with Flight 1A on Monday, July 2, at 11 a.m. The subsequent flights, 1B and 1C, are scheduled for Tuesday, July 3, and Wednesday, July 4, respectively.thIn the fall, we will host 888poker LIVE Festival events in Sao Paulo, Brazil in September, at Aspers Casino in London from November 23 to December 2, and conclude in Portugal from December 11 to December 16.
For those curious, we will continue implementing the 'Action Clock' for all our Main Events and High-Rollers, a feature first introduced during the LIVE event in October in London.
We got insights from our 888poker Ambassadors, Dominik Nitsche and Parker 'Tonkaaaa' Talbot, about their views on the 888poker LIVE events, the updated schedule, and other exciting topics.
Which 888poker LIVE events are you looking forward to most in 2018, and why?
Tonkaaaa & Nitsche Weigh In
Nitsche: I am particularly excited about returning to London. The live cash games there are definitely something to look forward to.
Tonkaaaa: As always, my top event of the year is the WSOP Main Event sponsored by 888poker. It’s a competition I adore, but the $888 Crazy 8s also holds a special place. I think I tried three entries last year, and while I hope to limit myself to one entry this year, the excitement of the tournament is so captivating that I might just try again as many times as it takes.
What were some of your favorite 888poker LIVE events from 2017?
Nitsche: London was fantastic since it was like a gathering of all the 888 Ambassadors; it felt reminiscent of a home game. Barcelona also stands out because I was able to dine at one of the world’s finest restaurants.
Tonkaaaa: I particularly enjoyed the 888poker LIVE London Aspers Main Event. I made a significant run in 2017, placing 15th. Besides my love for the casino and providing commentary, it was exhilarating to go deep in the Main. I hope to improve that in 2018 with a final table appearance!
season? Nitsche: What sets 888poker LIVE Events apart from other live events you participate in? Tickets , and I can't wait to go back.
Nitsche: For me personally, there’s less pressure to perform. While I enter a few events, the ambiance feels much more relaxed. I mainly participate for the enjoyment and the chance to snag one of those unique trophies to place on my desk.thAdditionally, the atmosphere at these events is very friendly and casual. People are genuinely there to have fun, oftentimes approaching me for a chat. I truly appreciate that. In contrast, high-stakes tournaments can feel overwhelming, making it hard to enjoy the game. In 888 events, that pressure simply isn’t there.
Tonkaaaa: 888poker LIVE events stand out because of their exhilarating and fresh environment. Furthermore, the implementation of a shot clock in all Main Events is groundbreaking. I believe we will see more tournaments adopting this format, and I am thrilled that 888 is at the forefront of this innovation.
What advice would you give to poker players anticipating to enter 888poker LIVE Events for the first time in 2018? poker Nitsche: That’s a straightforward query. There are plenty of satellite opportunities available online, so make sure to take advantage of those. It’s always advantageous to enter an event affordably. If you qualify and it's your inaugural major tournament, just keep in mind it’s still the same game as online poker. Play your best, and most importantly, prepare for the possibility of losses since it’s a poker tournament after all. Try to enjoy the experience and treat it as a learning opportunity.
Tonkaaaa: My advice for anyone participating in 888poker LIVE events in 2018 would be to embrace the experience and head over to parquetbinet.com to join some satellites for a low entry cost. That’s always the best way to secure a spot in live events - starting with satellites! So gear up, log onto 888, and get ready to grind.
In 2017, we conducted nine diverse 888poker LIVE events worldwide, drawing in 11,503 participants and distributing a staggering $3,857,782 in winnings.
The highlight tournament of the year was November’s 888poker LIVE Local London Main Event, boasting 787 entries. Other notable events included January’s 888poker LIVE King’s Festival Opening Event (783 entries), the 888poker LIVE London Festival Opening Event (771 entries), September’s 888poker LIVE Sao Paulo Festival Main Event (757 entries), and May’s 888poker LIVE Barcelona Festival Opening Event (720 entries).
Among the triumphant players of 2017 were Catalin Pop, the 888poker LIVE Rozvadov Main Event champion for €80,000, Krzystof Pregowski, victor of the 888poker LIVE Easter Edition in London for £21,118, and Luigi Shehadeh, who took home €110,000 as the champion of the 888poker LIVE Poker Festival Barcelona. Other successful players included Haroldo Silva, who won R$200,000 at the 888poker LIVE Poker Festival Sao Paulo, and Tom Hall, who secured £78,888 at the 888poker LIVE Poker Festival London.
In 2017, we also formed alliances with some of the top events and organizations in the poker scene, including the World Series of Poker, World Poker Tour DeepStacks, Super High Roller Bowl, and Poker Central. We are excited to maintain these collaborations in the new year.
Following Up a Strong 2017
As we enter the new year, our aim remains to reinvigorate the fun aspect of poker, which includes welcoming a new 888poker Ambassador - Martin Jacobson from Sweden. In 2014, Jacobson triumphed against 6,683 competitors to capture the WSOP Main Event, resulting in a prize of $10 million.
According to Jacobson, '888poker has demonstrated a remarkable openness to feedback from players to enhance their offerings. With my extensive experience and understanding of the poker landscape, I am confident I can help them achieve their objectives more effectively.'

Goals for 2018
