This year’s tournament broke records with a staggering 10,112 entrants, generating a massive prize pool of $94 million. Every player at the final table will take home at least $1 million, while the ultimate champion will walk away with a whopping $10 million. A winner will be declared on Wednesday. Jordan Griff (U.S.) – 163.7 million chips
This is only the fourth time that Griff has made it into the cash at the WSOP, and he comes back as the chip leader this time around. His best previous earnings were $18,104 from a WSOP Circuit event in 2023. A native of Illinois, he now resides in Arizona and holds a degree in supply chain management from Arizona State University.
Brian Kim (U.S.) – $94.6 million
Hailing from California, this 34-year-old player boasts one WSOP bracelet, which he won in 2022. Earlier that year, he achieved a commendable 23rd place in the Main Event, earning $323,100. He studied at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and is currently based in Sydney, Australia.
Niklas Astedt (Sweden) – 94.2 million
Considered among the elite players in the world, Ivar Astedt, age 33, has amassed $48 million in online poker earnings. This player from Ontario is on a quest for his first WSOP bracelet and has achieved his highest-ever finish in the WSOP. He previously placed 23rd in the 2004 Main Event, earning $120,000.
Jason Sagle (Canada) – 67.3 million
At 27 years old, this player has racked up $900,000 in live poker winnings and earned a finance degree from the University of Bocconi. This marks his 13th cash in WSOP history.
Boris Angelov (Bulgaria) – 52.9 million
This 38-year-old player boasts $2 million in live poker earnings, comprising 63 cash finishes at the WSOP and four WSOP Circuit rings. He made a significant impact by finishing 21st in the Main Event back in 2009 for $352,000 and holds a hotel management degree from Cornell University.
Jonathan Tamayo (Texas) – 26.7 million
Latinois, now 28, recently made his first official tournament cash in 2022 and has yet to cross the $100,000 mark in earnings. However, he is guaranteed to win at least $1 million now.
Malo Latinois (France) – 25.5 million
At just 30, this player has achieved 31 cash finishes at WSOP events and began his poker journey in 2014. His best result previously was a third-place finish in a $1,500 event this summer, netting him $201,518.
